Precision Workability is an Untapped Resource

Annually 100,000 people in Finland leave the labor market, and the replacing age groups are so small that they need to add up the retiring ones. Simultaneously 65,000 people have precise workability, and they are seeking work. For some reason, industries requiring more labor do not meet these applicants.

Companies may need more information on hiring people with precise work abilities. Also, employees are sought partially through the same old channels. The new work-life requires new networks to succeed. Together with HemmaKoti, Live Foundation is starting a collaboration to promote the employment of people with limited but precise work abilities.

Customer Manager Annika Lipponen from the Live Foundation states:

– Companies can no longer afford to leave motivated job seekers outside the labor market.

What is precision workability?

The scope of precision workability includes a diverse group of people with health and functionality challenges who can work on the task at hand when assignments are customized and working hours are individually tuned.

The gig economy comes to the rescue!

HemmaKoti is a growth company that aims to digitalize homework. Individuals can offer their services through HemmaKoti, such as cleaning, gardening, or healthcare. There are over 30 service categories. Financial responsibility is crucial in the platform industry. HemmaKoti is an official payment intermediary accepted by the Financial Supervisory Authority, FSA in Finland: fees are transferred from the customer to the service provider only after the work is approved. Prices and pay are way over the minimum wages, as the salary is consistently above 20 euros per hour. Social responsibility is also evident in the careful selection process before the service provider applies to be a member of the network.

Marika Pendolin launched hemmaKoti.com consumer service in 2022. Its operations expanded in 2023 to the public sector as the official partner for elderly services in the Cities of Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa. Digitization brings automatic tax household deductions for registered customers. In addition, the VAT-free public-private cooperation invoices for the elderly have been a source of joy.

Marika Pendolin, CEO and founder of HemmaKoti states:

– Despite all digital interfaces and APIs, we offer personal service from one human to another. Social responsibility is at the very core of our business.

The collaboration with the Live Foundation began when Pendolin contacted Live and participated in its Recruitment Fairs. As a result, Live’s customers are encouraged to set up a HemmaKoti profile and gain work experience through it. There are many paths to work-life.

Pendolin’s table is full of ideas, and her team is expanding. HemmaKoti wants to make a difference.

Its most recent plans are related to seeking public housing data and weather information with the help of artificial intelligence. This AI project allows the ability to plan such homework as window cleaning for the forthcoming spring season in advance.

The goal of the collaboration between HemmaKoti and the Live Foundation is to promote the employment of people with good workability when directed in precision and accuracy to create new jobs in the home services sector.
